All this cyber violence, won’t someone please think of the children?

The Wikileaks website was attacked last Sunday through means of a DDoS attack (Distributed Denial of Service). This sort of cyber attack may seem familiar to you. It was the form of attack used in the battle of Google v China whereby the (assumed culprits) of the Chinese Government attack various email accounts and websites of Chinese human rights activists. I posted recently about the attacks of Operation: Payback; the group who have sought to take vengeance against anti-copyright websites.

So what is going on with all the cyber violence? The US Government and FBI condemned the use of DDoS against websites that promoted the lawful acquisition of music and copyrighted material. However now it seems all to apparent that the US Government attacked just a few hours before it released reams of sensitive data.

Surely the US Government isn’t promoting hypocrisy?…
